So today, I decided to install our new dishwasher….. First question that came to my mind (probably along with everyone else’s) was “how in the world are you gonna do that; you’ve never done that before!”

Well to tell you the truth, I was half expecting it to fail but wanted to give it a try cause I was just determined to do something today other than sitting on my rump. I don’t know why but I’ve been pretty bored lately around the house, not sure if it is my children getting older and not requiring every. waking. second of me or maybe I’m actually figuring this parenting thing out!

Anyways, back to the dishwasher. So I was video chatting with my parents last night and informed them how excited I was to finally have a working dishwasher (our other one quit working LAST September) and the first thing they said, “you aren’t going to install it are you?” And I thought initially, “ya, why wouldn’t I? I can do it, don’t you believe in me?” Well later that evening, I was mulling over what potentially needed to be done and was reading the instruction book like I was studying for the MCAT and woke up this morning with determination to get it done.

I don’t know about you guys but I always have a “season” I like to call it where I just like to change things like bedding, paint, arrangements of furniture etc. more like permanent nesting these days (probably a post partum syndrome I’m sure) and this was my new found goal.

I am happy to say, after feeding the kids breakfast and trying to get J to take his nap for an hour without disturbing S, I finally could devote my time 110% to this dishwasher. I hooked everything up, have a few bruises on my knees, a new found love of electrical work, and a few less pieces of vinyl flooring in my kitchen…and guess what…I DID IT! And you would be correct in assuming that I have already cleaned a load of dishes and am already bored again!

Thankfully we have a fixer upper with endless projects to keep me busy!!

Do you all have anything you have wanted to do but just haven’t found the time? I would love to hear some ideas!
